Argan trees only thrive in Morocco - in the southwest. The Arganeraie there have been a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1998. Approximately 30 kilograms of fruit are required to produce one liter of argan oil. This corresponds to the harvest of four to five trees. In addition, two days of work are required for one liter of argan oil. This explains why argan oil is so valuable.
